AdvoCare 10 Day Cleanse - Results

The post that you have all been waiting for is here! OK, so maybe you haven't been waiting for it, but it's here, none the less. The results of my 10 day Advocare cleanse

Sorry, I'm not sorry, this took a little bit to post. My last day of the cleanse was Monday, but life has been non stop for the past week. This is the first time I have had a second to sit down and just breathe. Consider yourself lucky I'm writing it now and not passed out drunk or in a food coma napping!

Before I dive into how much I actually lost, let me first be a tease go over why I started the 10 day cleanse, in the first place. I first read about this cleanse from Mel and thought it sounded perfect. It was gentle on the stomach, I didn't have to spend a ton of money, and Mel had such great results. I had been in a rut that I couldn't get out of with my weight loss, so why not try this?!

I started the cleanse for two reasons, obviously to lose weight, but also to get back to eating healthy. Here is what I got out of this cleanse:

ONE - I can do anything for 10 days - My Hubs and I went to Red Robin for dinner one night while my parents had our boys. He said his Dr. Pepper tasted funny and asked me to try it - nope! I damn well did not! I can't even believe it myself! It's all about mind over matter and my will power not to cheat myself.

*Side note - I ordered a grilled chicken breast with homemade fresh salsa and a side salad, with water and lemon to drink - just in case you were wondering

I grew up in a BIG stereo typical Italian family. A bowl of pasta and garlic bread were not uncommon at our house. Neither was getting together for any occasion and having a dining room table full of food. So not eating carbs, on top of no coffee and no soda, it killed me! It brought me out of my comfort zone and made me think about my food choices, in a good way.

TWO - I will NEVER be a "clean" eater - To all of you very dedicated people that eat clean, rock on, but that shit is not for me! I'm not going to pretend that after this cleanse I sure as hell didn't have a cup of coffee from Starbucks for breakfast and a bowl of pasta for dinner.

No, I'm not falling back into old habits. Yes I believe you can have everything in moderation. I am just not going to be blowing up your Instagram with pictures of vegetables and fruit for the rest of my IG existence, it's just not me. I like coffee, soda, MnM's and I'm not going to pretend like this was life changing and I will never go back. It just doesn't work like that!

I am more than pleasantly surprised with the results. I didn't have any problems with the cleanse and I would tell anyone to try it! I personally though spare me the hate mail think that the cleanse can be done without buying the AdvoCare products. Other than going to the bathroom about every 30 minutes to piss away the water you have to consume, there was no other real change to that part of the "cleanse."

Obviously if you take out all the "white" foods, (flour, sugar, pasta, bread, rice) all the unhealthy foods and replace them with fruits, vegetables, and grilled/baked anything, of course you are going to lose weight!

Since everybody loves a good "before" and "after," you know I'll deliver.

On the 10 day cleanse, I lost a total of 8.2 pounds! This was actually my goal, I wanted to be 145 pounds or under because then I would only have 10 pounds to lose. I am now that much closer to hitting my goal of 135 pounds! I'm very excited about the results and with some cheat meals, I'm going to try and continue to stick with the healthy eating and just watching my food choices more closely.

Like I said, this is not going to be life changing, but it will get you on the right path, when it comes to healthier food choices. It's all mind over matter and baby steps, until finally, you reach your goal!

  1. Finally! Someone who agrees with me that the "product" is unnecessary to cleanse your body. It just makes you have expensive pee!

  2. Wow! You look so awesome! You're right, you can do the cleanse all on your own- Advocare products are just a "tool" to help! Like a calculator with a math problem, you can do it on your own, sometimes it's easier and you may get better results! I truly do love spark (alternative to sodas with caffeine) and the probiotics (helps regulate your digestion, you can buy this at drugstores, I just think it's a little less expensive through advocare). I'm like you, I will NEVER eat truly clean! I LOVE junk and carbs! See we are meant for each other ;)

  3. Awesome results! I've wanted to try this, but I can't afford the "help" so I might have to try this on my own! Any advice, tips, tricks or food/recipe ideas?

I'd never be able to stick with clean eating either!

  4. Good for you girl!! I usually eat that way with one cheat meal a week and pee enough from my 100 oz of water a day. Lol. I'm so glad that you were honest about the cleanse no hate mail from me. Ha!

  11. Great Results!!! I mentioned on someone else's blog the other day I'm not really sure what the "supplements" do during the cleanse and I chose not to go onto take more supplements for the 24 day challenge because I feel the same way you do, I think you could get the same results just cutting out the crap and following their food plan. I won't spend any more money on Advocare but I will continue to eat as clean as possible. I would recommend it to someone else, just to get a kick start but would maybe tell them to try it without the pills and see how they do. Thanks for sharing your opinion and results - you did awesome!!

  12. Hey There! I just found your post while researching the 10 day cleanse. I'm in a but of a rut and need to jump start my weight loss again. I was wondering how it went after you were off the cleanse. I'm always afraid that as soon as I'm done with something I will just gain everything back. I know you have to keep at it and such, but I was wondering what you thought of it now, a month later. Any advice/information would be great! Thanks!

LOVE ADVOCARE PRODUCTS! I think alot of people misunderstand what a supplement is: It is supplementing what we are not getting in our everyday food considering that our soil is so depleated of the nutrients we need. The cleanse isnt a miracle fix it is a healthy way to clean your liver and kidneys of the built up gunk and sludge sitting there inhibiting weightloss. It isnt intended for losing weight but to natuarally cleanse your body so you can put good clean food back into it which in turn amps your metabolism. This is also why it is recommended you only cleanse every 90-120 days. Doing any cleanse often is not good on your body.
I think it is awesome you lost weight on the 10 day cleanse and you did it the healthy way:)
in response to the comment above, you of course will gain it all back if you cleanse and then put bad carbs and junk back into your body. I have done the 24 day challenge and I lost 12lbs, have kept it off bc i continue to make great food choices. Good luck on your journey.

  17. I am on day 14 of the 24 Day Challenge. I have lost nothing- not one ounce, or one inch, so far. I am following it exactly, with NO results. I normally eat healthy, no bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, cereal, or other junk carbs, eat mostly fresh vegetables, chicken and sea food, and some low carb fruits.

So far, I think this whole plan is for people who have poor diets, to lose quickly, like ketosis, but if you are used to good portion control and healthy low carb eating, it probably won't do anything for you.

Since I paid so much for all of this, I will finish it, but at this point am very disappointed. The Spark product, which is advertised as "no sugar" actually has 3 sugars in it, and 11 grams of carb! I never eat things that high in carbohydrates.

If you experienced anything similar to me, I would love to hear from you!

Have you talked to the people who sold you the 24 day challenge? I am a distributor because I have truly had amazing results while using the products since April of 2013. The advisor who sold you the products should provide you with some guidance and assist you with any questions you may have. This is part of why I absolutely love Advocare, because there is the support system. I really hope that you have achieved some better results in the past few days. If you have any questions, I would be happy to try and help you. a_e_schneider@yahoo.com

    2. I agree, spark, although advertised as sugar free, has dramatic effects on my glucose levels. The diet itself is great for my diabetes, but I have to watch closely when I drink the spark.

    3. Diane, I have been a distributor of Advocare products since 2005. I have had amazing results with products. As Ashley mentioned, your advisor should be able to help you with the issues you are having. Are you drinking plenty of water (especially in the morning half of the day)? When I say "plenty," I mean no less than ten 8 oz. cups per day....Also, women are prone to have issues with stool regularity...you should be going 2-3 times daily. I just ran across this blog so I hope that you have found some success. :)

  19. I'd like to know how long the initial results lasted for you. As a health fitness specialist I always advise my clients that the weight the lose during/after a cleanse isn't permanent, and that they need to work extra hard to keep it off. Did you find that a few pounds crept back on after returning to regular eating, or did seeing the number change so dramatically inspire you to keep it off?

  21. The amazing fact about the products after the cleanse is that they continue to help you sustain energy and appetite control, while boosting your metabolism to continue burning fat. The purpose of the cleanse is to detox the body...ridding it of the junk that prohibits the intestinal tract from being able to absorb the nutrients found in your everyday foods and supplements. The body responds well when good things are put in it. The MNS vitamins and additional supplements will assist you in fighting off cravings, give you needed energy, and help you burn the stored fat without damaging muscle tissue (the body is lazy and muscle is easier to break down!). I am not trying to "sell" anyone on this...I haven't been working the business side for about 6 years, but I have continued to use products and share with my friends, but if you are interested or if you just have questions, I would me happy to assist you. Feel free to comment on the post if you need anything! Best wishes to all of you out there working to improve yourselves from the inside-out! Cheers to good health!

  22. My husband and I are starting the cleanse Monday. I just realized the plan includes the extra stuff that isn't in the cleanse box. Did you use Spark, Omega Plex and Catalyst? I'm wondering if I need to get that too or if I can just use the stuff in the box and call it good.

  23. Did you exercise during the cleanse?
