Sorry, I'm not sorry, this took a little bit to post. My last day of the cleanse was Monday, but life has been non stop for the past week. This is the first time I have had a second to sit down and just breathe. Consider yourself lucky I'm writing it now and not passed out
Before I dive into how much I actually lost, let me first
I started the cleanse for two reasons, obviously to lose weight, but also to get back to eating healthy. Here is what I got out of this cleanse:
ONE - I can do anything for 10 days - My Hubs and I went to Red Robin for dinner one night while my parents had our boys. He said his Dr. Pepper tasted funny and asked me to try it - nope! I damn well did not! I can't even believe it myself! It's all about mind over matter and my will power not to cheat myself.
*Side note - I ordered a grilled chicken breast with homemade fresh salsa and a side salad, with water and lemon to drink - just in case you were wondering
I grew up in a BIG stereo typical Italian family. A bowl of pasta and garlic bread were not uncommon at our house. Neither was getting together for any occasion and having a dining room table full of food. So not eating carbs, on top of no coffee and no soda, it killed me! It brought me out of my comfort zone and made me think about my food choices, in a good way.
TWO - I will NEVER be a "clean" eater - To all of you very dedicated people that eat clean, rock on, but that shit is not for me! I'm not going to pretend that after this cleanse I sure as hell didn't have a cup of coffee from Starbucks for breakfast and a bowl of pasta for dinner.
No, I'm not falling back into old habits. Yes I believe you can have everything in moderation. I am just not going to be blowing up your Instagram with pictures of vegetables and fruit for the rest of my IG existence, it's just not me. I like coffee, soda, MnM's and I'm not going to pretend like this was life changing and I will never go back. It just doesn't work like that!
Obviously if you take out all the "white" foods, (flour, sugar, pasta, bread, rice) all the unhealthy foods and replace them with fruits, vegetables, and grilled/baked anything, of course you are going to lose weight!
Since everybody loves a good "before" and "after," you know I'll deliver.
On the 10 day cleanse, I lost a total of 8.2 pounds! This was actually my goal, I wanted to be 145 pounds or under because then I would only have 10 pounds to lose. I am now that much closer to hitting my goal of 135 pounds! I'm very excited about the results and with some cheat meals, I'm going to try and continue to stick with the healthy eating and just watching my food choices more closely.
Like I said, this is not going to be life changing, but it will get you on the right path, when it comes to healthier food choices. It's all mind over matter and baby steps, until finally, you reach your goal!
